Getting Out of the "Specialist" Rut

Do you find yourself micromanaging every little thing in your life? It seems like we are living in a time of “specialization,” and we are limiting our beliefs because of it.

If we get sick, we are told that we need to go to a specific doctor or receive a certain type of treatment, because that’s the only way we are going to heal. If we struggle with the end of a relationship, we receive all kinds off well-intentioned advice from others about the “right” way to move on. We can become rigid in our minds when we buy into this way of thinking.

We are multidimensional beings, so numerous paths are open to us. There are a limitless number of ways that good can show up in our lives, but we need to become flexible thinkers and be open to receiving it from whatever channel it comes through.

When we let go of limiting thoughts and allow ourselves to expand our viewpoints, healing can come in many different ways. Instead of micromanaging the issue by only believing that certain actions are going to fix it, like a specific diet, type of self-work, or spiritual conviction “du jour,” remember that there is a limitless source of guidance available to you. Stop looking “without” for the answers and allow your inner guidance to lead you to a successful outcome.

Begin to think of yourself as a person that constantly receives good from a number of different avenues in your life. If one way fails, it’s not the end of the world! Remind yourself that there are plenty of other channels to success.
